Discover the revolutionary Light Adjustable Lens™ (LAL® & LAL+) technology at Northwest Eye Physicians, where customized post-cataract surgery adjustments provide unparalleled precision in vision correction.
We have worked with iOR Partners to develop this new innovative service within our practice. We are using all of the latest technology, both in terms of instrumentation and intraocular lens implants. The experience is completely different from a typical hospital or surgery center visit as we are using our own staff and oral sedation only. That means no IV sticks or uncomfortable gowns to wear. Patients will be working with our very pleasant staff whom they already know from prior visits.
Northwest Eye Physicians specializes in Intense Pulsed Light Therapy (IPL) for patients who have failed conventional dry eye therapy such as artificial tears or Restasis. This technology uses pulses of light applied to the eyelids to encourage movement of blocked oil and decrease overall inflammation. It is a newer procedure that we are happy to use as a safe and effective treatment for moderate to severe dry eye symptoms.
Vitreolysis, also known as floater laser treatment, is a pain-free, simple and non-invasive procedure that uses a laser to eliminate the visual disruption that floaters can cause. This procedure is performed at your ophthalmologist’s office and can take 5-10 minutes per treatment.
Northwest Eye Physicians offers laser assisted cataract surgery, which is a technologically advanced procedure that uses a femtosecond laser to help with the removal of cataracts. A femtosecond laser is a laser that emits optical pulses that have durations that are between femtoseconds and hundreds of femtoseconds. The United States has only used this kind of laser for the last ten years and it has been utilized by LASIK surgeons as well. This laser is a cool laser that allows the surgeon to have very precise incisions during surgery.
Cataract surgery offers the opportunity to lessen dependence on eyeglasses. At Northwest Eye Physicians, we are very concerned with providing each patient the best outcome possible. We utilize all available surgical technologies to customize our cataract treatments. Our team seeks to achieve the highest value and resolve any potential adverse issues before, during, and after surgery.
Northwest Eye Physicians is one of Chicagoland’s leading practices dedicated to surgical vision correction procedures (laser surgery), as well as cornea and external disease consultation.
