Carl Garfinkle, M.D.

Dr. Garfinkle obtained his M.D. from the Chicago Medical School in 1960. He completed his internship at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Chicago in 1961, and his residency at University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in 1964. Dr. Garfinkle started private practice in Arlington Heights in 1964.

Christopher Wood, M.D.

Dr. Wood obtained his M.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1994. He completed his postgraduate training from the University of Rochester Medical School in 1995, and Loyola University Medical Center in 1998. Dr. Wood specializes in cataract and laser surgeries. Dr. Wood treats eye diseases such as diabetes and glaucoma, and also performs eyelid surgery and refractive surgery, including LASIK and ReSTOR lens implants.

David Badawi, M.D.

Dr. Badawi obtained his M.D. from Georgetown University in 1995. He completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of California Los Angeles in 1999, followed by cornea and refractive surgery subspecialization at Emory University. Prior to his arrival at Northwest Eye Physicians, Dr. Badawi was a full-time faculty member and the Director of Comprehensive Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the largest academic ophthalmology institute in Illinois. As a corneal specialist, Dr. Badawi specializes in cataract surgery and corneal surgery. In addition to medically caring for many eye diseases such as diabetes and glaucoma, he also performs various laser procedures, advanced corneal transplantation procedures (DSEK), and pterygium surgery.

Christine Z. Pundy, M.D.

Dr. Pundy obtained her M.D. from the Chicago Medical School in 1972. She received further training at Evanston Hospital where she completed her internship in 1973, and her residency in 1977. Dr. Pundy practices medical ophthalmology and treats many eye diseases, such as glaucoma and diabetes. She treats patients of all ages, starting at age three. She is interested in contact lens wearers and treats dry eyes and blepharitis aggressively with multiple modalities including punctal plugs, Restasis and nutritional supplements. Her glaucoma patients benefit from in-office laser procedures, such as YAG and SLT. Dr. Pundy is bilingual - a native English speaker and fluent in Ukrainian.
